Just Bloggin'

I know it's been quite here in April and I haven't been commenting on other's blogs - this is just a quick note to let you all know I'm still around.

I'd like to pretend I've been busy.  I have posted over on Diplomatist Books (PLUG ALERT!!!  And don't forget to tell your friends!), but the main reason has been endless distraction and online backgammon.

Gaming-wise?
  • I put some paint to brush about a week ago and will hopefully have something to share for the next Dr Who Wednesday.
  • I should have plug Diceni, but it crept up on me and I didn't realise that it was happening this weekend until Thursday!  I don't think I'll make it tomorrow.
  • I'm severely tempted by Tribal from Mana Press, which is available from the Wargames Vault.  The video below is by the developers, and there's a review on Cor Blog Me!  It might justify a purchase of some cavemen!

  1. Since no "Interesting Obit" highlighting your demise had appeared, I figured you must be lurking about somewhere. Very good to see you're not dead yet!

    1. I might have been overshadowed by the number of famous people who have died recently. Randolph Churchill said that whatever people thought of him, at least he'd be front page news when he died - only to die on the day Robert Kennedy was assassinated!

Alternatively, who writes the obit of the last man standing?

  2. Always great to hear that someone isn't dead! I liked the video. That is a game that I even could play!

    Greetings

    1. I like games with simple mechanisms - hence the backgammon.

  4. Good to know that you are still around and Tribal is gnawing away at me too. It caught my eye at `Salute' and I just loved the demo game that they had running.

    1. I think it was on your blog that I first read about it.

  5. Good to hear you're still with us sir! A certain Hereward the Wake arrived in good order a few days ago so I must thank you once again for your generosity Edwin...

    1. Did I include the Gripping Beast card with it? Someone ended up without one.

The first blog give-away I won was a splendidly painted Arthurian warlord from you. What goes around, comes around.

  6. Well...I shall to return to poke you at a decent interval. In the interests of maintaining public confidence of course.

    1. 'Poke' as in going across to Diplomatist Books and opening your wallet? :D :D :D

      Cheers!

  7. Glad you're back! I must say that I don't like games which require playing cards (or, indeed any other tokens) on the board. It's what has put me off Simon Miller's otherwise estimable To The Strongest rules.
