I pretty much ignored the 'social' aspects of the course despite the regular messages telling me how good it would be to chat and share ideas...didn't seem to make much difference to the experience.alastairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15012644168758721189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8316437260668122878.post-80316609155623241482015-09-08T18:57:12.110+01:002015-09-08T18:57:12.110+01:00I've decided to give this a go as well after r...I've decided to give this a go as well after reading this post, totally different subject area for me though, I'm going to be exploring the Oceans.

Keithbrownk29https://www.blogger.com/profile/09287347893715981206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8316437260668122878.post-32756597525246520282015-09-08T17:54:54.654+01:002015-09-08T17:54:54.654+01:00Good luck, I've never done a MOOC but I did so...Good luck, I've never done a MOOC but I did some research on them for my university to see if it was for us. Generally the conclusion was that it didn't fit with the courses we did (civil engineering and geology and therefore very hands on). However they did look interesting if you picked the right subject - history would be ideal as there is lots of background reading and then lectures explaining the current thinking. After the first year I never bothered with the weekly tutorial or any of the online forums/groups as I personally didn't get much out of them...but then I'm a bit antisocial. I never felt like I was missing anything out and, in fact, I did rather well just on my lonesome.Mallius Vanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11017597212038657943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8316437260668122878.post-13300551294890992682015-09-08T17:42:45.774+01:002015-09-08T17:42:45.774+01:00Thanks for the advice.
