Rocketmen - Analogue Painting Challenge Update

Last week I made a submission to the Painting Challenge of these Galacteers from Hydra Miniature's Retro Raygun range.

I'm sorry for the quality of the photos.

I've had them for a while, but didn't like the paint-job I chosen for them - I wanted to evoke a little retrofuturism - so I scrubbed them and started anew for the Challenge.  I'm still not happy with the results, but from the references to 1962 and calls of 'Groovy!' in the challenge comments, I've achieved some of my goal.

The backdrop was an illustration 'Saturn from Mimas' by Chelsey Bonstell (painted in 1944 for LIFE).
