Chris Stoesen at Wargamer's Odds and Ends has brought his readers' attention to a new blog Waziristan on a Fancy by Juan Mancheño.  Juan has amassed some very impressive research (and some lovely figures) for his current project, which is to game the various skirmishes on the NW Frontier before and during WWI and the Third Afghan War of 1919.

It's a really interesting time and place, and one that always interests me for a very good reason: my grandfather was out there at the time.  During a recent trip to the National Archives, I discovered that he was probably manning armoured trains.  I'll certainly be following Juan's blog with interest!
